All of the public schools in the City of Folsom operate under the
unified,
Folsom-Cordova Unified School District.This district is a combined district for the cities of Folsom and Rancho Cordova. This district consists of 21 elementary schools, four middle schools, and three high schools (Lago Vista opens in Folsom in August of 2007).The City of Folsom contains 9 elementary, 2 middle, and 2 high schools. El Dorado Hills shares three public
union, school districts with surrounding communities. They are:
Buckeye Union Elementary School District,
Rescue Union Elementary School District, and
El Dorado Union High School District. Both Buckeye and Recsue contain K-8 schools, while El Dorado has just four high schools (grades 9-12). These three school districts contain schools rated in the top quarter of California's schools while the schools in El Dorado Hills are rated near the top in the state.
